Job title: Marketing Director
Reports to: CEO, Sales Director, Head Brewer
Who you are:
The Marketing Director is a unique position that works closely with each department and serves as the key communicator within the company and with the public. This person should promote and engage with the community using a healthy presence, voice, and aesthetic that showcases the Aslan culture and attitude. As Marketing Director, you are tasked with not only presenting ideas to the team, but following through with scheduling, creating copy, curating graphics/photos, and sharing on multiple promotional outlets. This person will work closely with ownership and the marketing and events teams to determine strategies to engage and grow Aslan’s brand as a world class brewery.
Beer Industry Knowledge: Maintain a high level of knowledge related to beer, the brewing process, and general happenings in the beer industry.
Social Media: Create engaging, high quality posts that are relevant to the business, promote excitement for the brand, encourage sales, and inform followers of campaigns or events. You are directly responsible for content and community management for the Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter pages of Aslan Brewing Company and Aslan Depot. Also oversee the development of the Aslan Seattle brand and social media accounts.
Website: Maintain aslanbrewing.com. Keep information up to date. Work with Art Director to manage website design.
Marketing Leadership: Work closely with Head Brewer, Sales Director, Events Coordinator, Community Outreach, and Restaurant managers to form a clear marketing schedule. Lead marketing team in a weekly meeting to discuss and plan everything from short term to long term campaigns.
Advertising: Manage all print and digital ad campaigns. Field advertising offers online, work with CEO on finding best value and relevance for ads. Create advertising copy and work with Art Director on design.
PR: Create and manage PR efforts, including press releases, media outreach, interviews, product placement opportunities, and product reviews.
Copywriter: Proofread copy and various marketing materials that are produced by other Aslan staff members.
Events: Work closely with Events Coordinator in planning, marketing, and day-of execution.
Photography: Document key moments with high quality photography. Be able to create own social media content, tell a story through creative photos.
Graphic Design: Create graphics while following Aslan branding guidelines. Work with team to create/edit documents and graphics for the sales team, restaurant, brewery, and office space. Oversee brewery/brewpub marketing collateral and design projects (i.e. - tap room menus, posters, advertisements, and social media campaigns/ads)
Outbound/inbound Communication: Effectively organize and conduct meetings with potential partners and collaborators. Work closely with and maintain relationships with local non-profits.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
Able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check
Bachelor’s degree or equal experience preferred
Strong writing and communications skills
Photography, graphic design, Adobe Suite, overall tech literacy preferred
Minimum of 3 years experience managing messaging across the social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc...)
Experience with content management systems
Experience with proofing and editing
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple deadlines
Intense attention to detail with accuracy and consistency
Must be physically able to stand and work both in indoor and outdoor environments for long periods of time, move 165 lb kegs with proper technique, and comply with all health, safety, and personal hygiene standards.
Be a team player and able to interact with all levels within the organization
Adhere to and enforce all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, with occasional nights and weekends working events, festivals, and other marketing related activities. This is a full-time position. A minimum of 40 hours should be dedicated to work each week.
10 days of Paid Time Off given per year. Time does not accrue for unused days, but resets on January 1st of each year.
7.5 days of paid holidays in addition to PTO, which includes: New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day After Thanksgiving, Half-Day Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
