Our Story
Our mission is to produce and distribute world-class organic beer using local resources, low-impact practices, and socially equitable initiatives in order to promote a healthier, happier, and more conscious community.
In September 2012, two friends, Jack Lamb and Frank Trosset, turned a Bellingham basement into the starting point of Aslan Brewing Company. With nothing more than a 5-gallon homebrew setup and a shared dream, they set out to redefine beer and business in their community. Their mission was clear: brew quality, certified organic beer while using commerce to drive positive social impact. Together, they launched a pilot brewery in a garage down the street, dedicating a year to honing the knowledge and skills required to establish their own commercial microbrewery.
In May 2014, after nine grueling months renovating and refurbishing a historic building in downtown Bellingham, they opened the doors to Aslan’s Brewpub. With the addition of Frank’s brother, Boe Trosset, their team of three quickly grew into a team of 30, as Aslan expanded its reach throughout the city and state. In January 2016, Aslan doubled down on its commitment to the Triple Bottom Line and became a Certified B Corporation, knowing it would have to be more conscious about its impact as it grew.
In February 2018, Aslan opened its second location, Aslan Depot, followed by its third location, Aslan Seattle, in October 2019. Today, Aslan employs nearly 100 talented individuals and stays deeply engaged with its community through philanthropic initiatives and unforgettable events. Aslan remains one of the few breweries in the nation committed to brewing certified organic beer and will continue to shape its future around its people and the planet.
