Sea to Sea is a Pale Export Lager brewed for Aslan Seattle’s 5-year anniversary. It is a bold pale lager brewed with robust herbal hops and a strong bready malt presence.
While reflecting on our five years in Fremont, Seattle, we thought about what makes our space unique, how we represent our brewery up North, and how we’ve settled into our favorite neighborhood. Excellent lager brewing and service has been a priority of ours from the beginning, especially when entering a beer market as exceptional as Seattle. While hop-forward beers are always going to be a Seattle specialty and something we want to share with our customers and industry, we’ve found that both our staff and regulars tend to lean towards our lagerbier.
Each week we get a delivery from Bellingham with our brewery fresh beer, a trip from Salish Sea to Puget Sound. This travel invokes the imagery of an export lager - one brewed in greater strength to sustain sea travel. While our 100 mile difference is nowhere near the treacherous travel exported beer once endured, by brewing an export lager we’re honoring Aslan’s pointed lager fermentation, a Seattle favorite style, and what we love about our special little taproom.
With the hop presence of a German Pilsner, the bready malt quality of a Helles, and a greater strength than both, this Pale Export beer has a little bit of all our favorite things. Come enjoy it and celebrate with us on Saturday, November 9th at our five year anniversary!
