2023 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

2023 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

Looking back at 2023 feels like a big learning experience for the beer industry as a whole. At Aslan, we came to terms with the “end” of the pandemic, leaving craft beer in an interesting space. As an industry, craft beer has seen better days. Folks are prioritizing different things, whether it’s drinking less, spending more time at home, or budgeting for healthier habits, all of which frequenting a bar and restaurant doesn’t lend well to. Hard times in the beer industry feel like a natural signal that it might be time to cut costs and scale back on some of the sustainability choices we’ve made that tend to be more expensive. This could mean re-evaluating our use of organic ingredients, scaling back on community giving, or brewing innovative beers with regenerative grains. However, we feel quite the opposite! Sustainability continues to remain a priority at Aslan Brewing Co.

This report shows that these programs aren’t going anywhere. Though it’s the rockier road, we’re committed to our craft—brewing more sustainable craft beer for a brighter future.

We got to be on the receiving end of some amazing opportunities in 2023– chances to walk the walk when it came to making more sustainable craft beer. We maintained our commitment to everything we’ve done in the past, and then some through collaborations like the two beers with Patagonia Provisions and partnerships with folks in our community doing the good work when it comes to their activism, the ones who are the boots on the ground. We’re looking forward to the next year as a chance to rapidly expand our horizons and make the sustainable beer big picture, even bigger. What better way to have these conversations about sustainability than over a pint?

Cheers to you, the folks that make this thing possible, and cheers to brewing both organic beer & organic community.
