RAIN GARDEN STEWARD

Did you know that the two planters in front of the Aslan Brewpub and the one across the street are taken care of by Aslan employees?

Aslan Brewing is a part of the Downtown Rain Garden Steward Program. By joining this downtown program, it’s our responsibility to keep the gardens on the corners of our building at the Brewpub, along with the one across the street clean and full of plants. These gardens have more purpose than just keeping our building corner looking snazzy; adding plants here helps filter out pollutants like car oils, grease, and fertilizers picked up by stormwater runoff, which improves the quality of nearby waterways. Water drains off our roof and into the streets no matter what — we might as well put it to good use by using it to grow happy plants that help out our waterways!

It may not seem like much, but it’s another way that we can help our community by keeping pollutants out of our water and keeping our buildings looking good with fun foliage!
